Ratings book and Download???

Sholudn't these be available from Strat soon?? I know they are taking orders for the board game on January 17th and the game relases is scheduled for February 8th, just suprised with these announcements that we haven't gotten info on ordering the ratings yet.

They said possibly Friday but probably the 14th-15th.

Funny, I JUST got an e-mail from Strat with news for their upcoming products and in it is a link for a pdf download that opens to the latest Strat News magazine. Guess what's featured on page 2??? An article about the ratings book, at the end of which is a plea for us to order NOW.

But guess what isn't up for order on the site...

Gotta love when a company's PR dept. has no idea what's actually going on.

Does Bernie work for these guys? I feel bad about making a big deal of last year's rating book when Giambi had conflicting injury numbers I think. I hope Bernie's medical issues are waaaaay behind him.

How do these mulitple card players work in the online game? do they combine the stats-which means the cards will be different?

Looks like they don't give out the salary. true? that's disappointing.

Also if you are ordering both the download and the book, do yourself a favor and order them seperatly. I've had nightmare expieriences the last few years when ordering them together. You've been warned.

Thanks for the info. I've never ordered or seen these. Could someone explain the highlights? Is this something that many of you use religiously when building your teams? Is it worth the $13.50 each?

I'm sure Ninersphan has a better summaization to that question but I think the ratings download gives me a good indication of a players strengths and weaknesses. You get basehit numbers, OBP, and Total bases. And that's against both left and right-handed pitchers. And the same goes for the pitchers. You also get the other stuff such as defense and running, bunting...etc. Shoot, I forgot the HR numbers; both natural and ballpark for each hitter vs. both lefty and righty pitcher.

I still like getting the book becasue that will indicate the injury for each hitter. And of course it's portable.
