I would hope we would not be tied down to a particular card year. Later in the draft it may turn out that we need to use that player's lower priced card. Or on the other hand all the high priced cards are gone and we then upgrade to a higher priced card than the one we originally were planning on.

I would tend to agree. Does the commish's procedure mean we can't "massage" our team makeup as we go along or even after the draft?
