A Legend Has Passed

PostSat Jan 19, 2013 11:54 am

I was raised on baseball as an Oriole fan in the 70's and 80's, and the news of Earl Weaver's passing has hit me hard.

Tonight Earl, I will raise a glass to you, and kick some dirt over a home plate at the little league field next door in your honor. You will be missed.

I was also an Oriole fan in that era. Earl Weaver, RIP. Iconic baseball manager.

As has Stan the Man. Not a good weekend for Baseball. I grew up following the Cardinals and Lou Brock. Me and my dad were watching a Saturday game one day when Boog Powell was batting and my mom came down stairs and looked at the TV and said "Why would a mother call her son Boog!"
