Well said salty.

It would be nice if when questions were asked, if there was 1 and only 1 place to get a correct answer.
This same place could have a checklist of the game engine and show/explain what was on/off.

We shouldn't have to wonder if ANY features were on or off.

When you are paying for something, it's nice to know what you are getting...

This certainly has been discussed in the past on the old website ad nauseaum

What about new players who were not part of those discussions?

What about the person who plays the games but does not take the time to read the boards? Should participation on the boards be a requirement to playing the online game itself?

All rules, and a clear statement of what computer features are turned on or off should be in the game rules link. If you are going to put part of that in a wiki page then provide a link to that wiki page so everyone can easily see it exists and know what it contains. Assuming the wiki page is accurate all that entails is adding a link under Info/help. Provide that and half or more of this discussion disappears.

Only half because I have no idea why it takes this much effort to get something as obvious as this done-
and why it takes people from the community to tell SoM how to behave in a fair manner- its an issue that my brain says shouldnt have to be brought up repeatedly.

I just read it. A few thoughts.

This would appear to make the information on that wiki page official. Though when I looked for the paragraph and link Garcia referenced I could not find it.

Garcia addressing what has been a hot topic on the boards is encouraging. Implies they may be paying a little more attention than previously and more than I thought for the present. Credit for a positive action.

I would really be impressed if someone from the strat company who knows these rules well could come on the boards for a discussion of the implications of some of the rules. I would be even more impressed if there was some kind of poll on the various features as to which ones we want. Or better yet some options during league creation to determine what rules/features are in effect for that league.

For example I am not sure what the bunt for base hit feature is worth since I assume that a player's BA as reflected by the card includes all hits regardless of whether it was a line drive single or a bunt single. So what exactly does that feature do?

Would like a discussion of the pitchAround option. How does that work? Are there any settings I can control that influence whether say Ruth is pitched around or not? If this impacted the play result is this noted anywhere in the boxscores and if so how?

THE BLOG
In this latest installment the claim is that it effects less than 5% of plays- ummmm excuse me, but if it doesnt matter then why have it at all- I keep hearing how all of these things dont effect play much-
from reverse lineups to overriding the dice- why is it there if it 'barely' matters? Just doesnt add up.
I mean if 'realism' is what your after why not have a .001 chance every time a pitcher gets hit hard that he accidentally punches the water cooler after being removed from the game? REDUCTO AD ABSERDUM

Secondly- the claim that he 'just found out' is one of those red herrings- Nev has stated that hes been mentioning the rules discrepancy for years now- and we've had ongoing discussions regarding 'black box' items for years also-
just an absolutely ridiculous statement. Next claim will be- ' I had no idea anyone was even interested in live drafts'.

Third- The only thing I can figure is that there is a huge fear that there will be nothing to write about so instead of giving us the information that people are asking about- they are going to drag each topic out as long as humanly possible.

I really despise people that aren't straight forward with stuff-
Quite simply we aren't getting the things that Hal Richman wrote we would in his letter.
namely having our questions addressed in the FAQs and communication with community on a regular basis- where is it?

We are supposed to have a dialogue- all I see are monoBLOGS.
