The unusable Bob Thurman

I have a 80M No-DH team that is at the 84 game mark and my '55 Bob Thurman card so far has zero plate appearances. I carry 14 hitters and 10 pitchers. By comparison, my bullpen pitchers have 51 plate appearances, including 3 for 1WL Greg Cadaret. I have Thurman set to avoid LHP but I can't believe HAL has never plucked him off the bench.
I've never seen anything like it.

Also on the same team, HAL also refused to use my '84 Garry Templeton for the first 62 games of the season until Dave Bancroft finally went down with an injury....

Interesting you should mention Greg Cadaret. I went through a phase where I used him on a number of teams. On some teams HAL would overuse him. In others HAL would not use him the entire season.

To make this thread even more trivial, the same Thurman card pinch hit against one of my other teams last night, so HAL's hatred of Bob is not universal.

I would go down the standard list of:

In team settings, do you have anyone set as your pinch hitters? What is relief usage set to?
In pitcher prefs, are any of your bullpen or starters set to "slow hook" or do you use any of the F0-F9 settings?

To maximize pinch hitting, set up pinch hitters both ways, set relief use to "normal" or "aggressive". Then on your pitcher prefs make sure nobody is set to slow hook or has the F0-F9 settings on. The F0-F9 settings are particularly unfriendly for pinch hitting for the pitcher's spot.

The streak ended last night with game 92. Bob came into the game after an injury to Mantle... and hit a 2 run homer.
