I'm learning all sorts of things from this experience. This a great way to learn the players. And limiting it by era makes it much less daunting.

This post got me to wondering who the runner ups in the 1965 Rookie of the Year were. Link below:

If you ask me, I would say that Joe Morgan had the better year, but my guess is that Lefebrve ended up earning it since he was on the National League pennant winner (and WS champs, too).

I will take Cleveland Stadium as my ballpark. Both Bombers and Rick have their parks already.

And part of perhaps the only entirely switch hitting infield to play in a WS: 1B - Wes Parker 2B - Jim Lefebvre SS - Maury Wills 3B - Junior Gilliam.

We are on the home stretch boys! Thanks all for driving this thing home.

What are the divisions again? Someone from the east can create the league when they make their last pick.

Pre 1920 - 351 hitters & 250 pitchers
1920-1939 - 409 hitters & 243 pitchers
1940-1959 - 459 hitters & 329 pitchers
1960-1969 - 296 hitters & 212 pitchers
1970-1979 - 350 hitters & 255 pitchers
1980-1989 - 417 hitters & 311 pitchers
1990-current - 183 hitters & 102 pitchers
NEL - 72 hitters & 38 pitchers

This is what we have now. 1990-current is unplayable and the NEL players are not assigned to an era. I was playing around with the numbers and came up with this. Here are three options we could do.

Option A - We scrap 1990+ league and add another earlier league.

Pre 1919 - 329 hitters & 234 pitchers
1919-1934 - 341 hitters & 211 pitchers
1935-1946 + NEL - 307 hitters & 199 pitchers
1947-1959 - 312 hitters & 213 pitchers
1960-1969 - 296 hitters & 212 pitchers
1970-1979 - 350 hitters & 255 pitchers
1980-1989 - 417 hitters & 311 pitchers (or 1980-1986 - 338 hitters & 247 pitchers)

Option B keep the early leagues the same and restructure the later leagues to include the post 1989 players. But then what to do with the NEL players?

Pre 1920 - 351 hitters & 250 pitchers
1920-1939 - 409 hitters & 243 pitchers
1940-1959 - 459 hitters & 329 pitchers
1960-1969 - 296 hitters & 212 pitchers
1970-1978 - 303 hitters & 225 pitchers
1979-1985 - 307 hitters & 218 pitchers
1986-current - 337 hitters & 222 pitchers
NEL - 72 hitters & 38 pitchers

Option C - combination of both of the above ideas which makes the total number of leagues 8 instead of 7.

Pre 1919 - 329 hitters & 234 pitchers
1919-1934 - 341 hitters & 211 pitchers
1935-1946 + NEL - 307 hitters & 199 pitchers
1947-1959 - 312 hitters & 213 pitchers
1960-1969 - 296 hitters & 212 pitchers
1970-1978 - 303 hitters & 225 pitchers
1979-1985 - 307 hitters & 218 pitchers
1986-current - 337 hitters & 222 pitchers

I'm for including them all in in some fashion, so I guess option C might do that. But are you sure you want to make the first cutoff at pre 1919? That puts the 1919 Black Sox boys in with the home run hitters? Or do you need to do that because of the numbers?
