Another Thursday Trivia Question

PostThu Feb 07, 2013 7:02 am

We all talk about how special it is for a player to play his entire career for one team....the Gwynns, the Yastremskis, the Musials. But let's talk about three players whose careers are slightly different. Three players played more than 2000 games...but each for 11 different teams. Can you name the players?

Morgan did play for 12 teams but only appeared in just about 600 games. So, you are right. The three are position players.

I'm going to assume it's post free-agent era players. One guy I remember getting traded for like 5 years in a row for no good reason was Kenny Lofton. I was pissed the Cubs didn't keep him. Guys like Renteria and Vizquel were around for ages, don't know if they made 11 teams though.

Kenny Lofton is indeed one of the three. I can see why you'd be angry that the Cubs didn't keep him given his slash line in the 56 games he played with them (.327/.371/.481) -- looks like he came over from the Pirates along with Aramis Ramirez.

Matt Stairs close but no cigar. Another guy who stopped for a cup of coffee with the Cubs. Had a decent year or half year with them.
