I hate being negative about a really cool concept, but . . .

A pair of small(ish) problems existed with this format the last time I played it. The 13 rounds give two number one picks to slot number 4, 2 second rounds to slot number 3, 2 third round picks to slot number 2, 2 fourth round picks to slot number 1, etc. Poor number 5 gets 2 12th slot picks. The number 5 guy spotted this and complained, but only after the draft was well under way. This prompted the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th positions guys to chime in. The second problem happened when trading of slots started and the trades did not seem equal. Lots of complaining, charges of two managers engaged in cheating, or one of idiocy. Etc.

So if you drop the 13th round, and ban trading of draft positions, I'm in. The drafting strategy is a blast, enduring all the complaints was not.

It is very difficult to keep managers from colluding/making dumb moves, so I am reluctant to ban trading of draft slots. I will reserve the right to invalidate a trade if it appears too one-sided and with the consensus of 2 other managers.

The reason I added the 13th round was to help some of the managers who may not have the ideal slot. I did an analysis based upon choosing the highest cap player at a position (which isn’t necessarily the best pick). There was about a 10% cap variance between max/min. The 13th round selecting a pitcher after 2 rounds of SP choices is not an especially valuable spot, but it does help the 4th position a bit as they can get the best of the SPs that are left.

So I would like to stay with the format, if it does not work for you, so be it.

for the SP round, are SP/RP allowed or only pure SP?
