I sincerely hope SOM management realizes what great assets they have lost and may yet lose due to their indifference to many of the issues that concern their customers.

I think there's a better chance of Jimmy Hoffa appearing and hopping into an ATG league...

as visick waits for the repercussions of that comment...

I guess a preemptive goodbye is in order for me? I could get in the sin bin for that one...

Thanks for starting this thread, nev.

A while back, Salt posted a message about leaving SOM in one of our on-going leagues. I hate to see him leave. He is a stand up guy, able to listen to what other people are saying, and always helpful. I'll miss him in these leagues and discussion boards. He's the only SOM player I've actually met in person, and his demeanor on the web was pretty much his demeanor in person -- laid back, curious about lots of things, and a careful listener. His leaving is a loss for our community, such as it is. Mark, I'm sorry to see you go.

Salty will be missed. He gave his notice a few days ago in our private league. Salty was a good manager and, like me, he had a passion for the game and playing by the rules. Win or lose, the standings didn't make any difference. Playing by the rules was the point Salty was trying to make...the rules were, in part, to be heard. We shouldn't have to point out deficiencies, they should already be apparent and not need to be mentioned by us. Now..who the heck am I going to make fun of in our league!!!! GRRRR!!!!

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...

Hey Visick, while you're waiting to get bounced by SOM -- we're waiting for you to enter your team in the new Shuffle League. Just need one more manager, and that's you.

This thread would have generated a lot more responses prior to the migration. Perhaps there are less people frequenting these well-patrolled new boards. Who would have thought that censorship might have that effect?

That's the truth. When I got hooked a few years ago I'd visit the forums daily. Usually multiple times. Now it's on,y a few times a week.

Sad to hear about Salt.

Petrosian is right, the Strat management has effectively stiffled many since the transition and it is quite sad. Saltman's comments and perspective had been a great enhancement to my enjoyment of Strat-o-matic online. It totally sucks that he, Adrian, Bobby and other gems of the TSN online game were so disgusted with the change that they have left. It sucks that the Fantasim and 1969 players were rudely dismissed. It sucks that the communication from management is filtered, one sided, and uninformative.

anyone disagree?

Are we allowed to disagree? Might get the thread vanished.

I'm not disagreeing by any means ... but I am curious if there is any real evidence that dialogue is being stifled. It seems to me that there are a large number of negative comments on various threads that are still up on the board. Have any of you actually been censored? or is this just hearsay?

Because if it's censorship over complaints about the game, I'll be tempted to quit too. Removing threatening comments, offensive language, etc. is fine with me (I imagine there are a least a few kids who play this game), but censoring constructive criticism and legitimate gripes is b.s.
