I don't think there's anyway you can combine the two into just one population. Politically incorrect advice but you're going to have to keep them segregated - into the 1935-1946 range, and then by selecting just the NEL players as the franchise within the team selection of the entire ATGVII set. Unless someone has any other advice, that's the only way I would think you could do it.

Sorry for the delay...Ok idle useless thought time...the choice of Chico had me wondering..has there ever been a MLB pitcher named Chico? I remember the position guys Chico Salmon and Chico Ruiz. In fact is baseball the only one of the 4 major sports to have any Chicos?

Chico Escarrega - pitched only in 1982 for the ChiSox

This is the only MLB pitcher with a first name of Chico in MLB history that I could find. There was a Matt Chico who pitched 2007,2008 & 2010 for the Washington Nationals.

Moral of the story..if you want your kid to be a major league pitcher don't name him Chico :D

With respect to the selection process for the next round, you could download the spreadsheets for both segments separately (MLB and Negro Leagues) and then merge them together if you need to see all of the available players in one setting.

But, if he's one of 5 brothers involved in slap-stick vaudevillian comedy, Chico is a must for one of the names.

Then name ALL your kids, boy or girl, Chico to increase the odds for having a slapstick comedian in the family. Didn't Jose Cruz name all his sons Jose and George Foreman name all his boys George? Guess that would ruin my theory right there :D.

One of the Jose Cruz Jrs did make it to the majors...
