Funny you should mention that. Admittedly I do not follow baseball as closely as I did in the 70s. However, unless I looked it up, I cannot tell you who the pitcher was when Barry Bonds broke (ahem!) Hank Aaron's career homerun record. And I'm sure I'm not the only one ignorant of that. I guess there wasn't as big a hoopla about Bonds as there was for Aaron. I can still remember Aaron finishing the 1973 season just one home run shy of the record, and the controversy at the beginning of the 1974 season when the Braves manager was considering keeping him out of the lineup so that he would hit the tieing and record breaking homeruns at home.
