a. What do the numbers IN FRONT of each above at bat result mean? For example 1 Line Out for Smalley? What does the "1" mean? What are they an indication of? b. Does the F9 mean anything? This seems to be after every play so I am assuming it has no meaning. c. I understand the numbers before the batter to be in order: the number of outs, the base (1,2,3) that has a runner on it at the start of the at bat. So Darwin comes to bat with 2 outs and a batter on 2nd (e.g. 2 2). Is this correct?
If there is any interpretation FAQ someone can point to, much appreciated. Thanks!
The F9 is the pitchers fatique. You keep seeing F9 because it is likely the starter, not tired yet. As you get deeper into the game, you will see F8, F6, etc as the starter gets tired, if he is still in.
Ok lets give u a little help and run you through the line score
1 Smalley 1 Line out b-0 F-9
the first 1 is how many outs at the beginning of Smalleys AB the 1 after the batters name is how many pitches the batter sees before the AB is decided it can be any number next of course is the result for the batter next it will tell you what happened on the basebaths in this case batter out it may tell u 2-h this means a runner at second scored on the play so the first number tells you where the runner started the second where he ended up at ok the last notation F-9 tells you how tired the pitcher on the mound is tiring F-9 means he is at full strength as the number goes down the more tired he is this is as chrisfu mentioned
Rudy and Chris- thanks for your help on this, did not even think pitch count was going to be shown. Am curious if anyone looks at this pitch count at all.
