I hadn't noticed Michaelrobb11 was off to such a slow start in League 9. Even so, if he maintains his current .460 pace, I think his spot in the finals is secure. If he finishes much worse, he could obviously be in trouble, but he's only 7 games out of his division lead with 75 to play, not necessarily in such bad shape.

What flux otherwise remains will be pretty much gone by the end of League 7. Relevant playoff points will already be resolved, or no longer matter, unless one of the League 8 managers noted above is still alive and needs playoff points to make the finals. Still a realistic possibility at this point.

If Michaelrobb11 finishes poorly enough to drop out, he won't be in his league playoffs. Win or lose, League 9 playoffs won't be needed to determine the finals under any scenario, and he'll be done before League 8 playoffs are complete.

So, if one of the League 8 managers needs the league playoffs to break into the Top 24, looks to me like that's still what the final spots will come down to. If not, then indeed it could come down to how Michaelrobb11 finishes, although he could also clinch his spot sooner.

Just saw that the commish has decided to use seeding for division assignments in the Champs League. That will change things a bit, maybe push the schedule back by a week or two. The final 24 could be set by mid-March, but seeding can't be determined until all managers in the Top 24 have finished.

So, if Michaelrobb11 should make the playoffs in League 9, seeding won't be known until his League 9 playoffs are complete, first week in April if he makes the finals. League 8 playoffs, likely needed for seeding, wrap up a week earlier.

I made some corrections to my standings. I had understated the effect of michaelrobb11's games in hand on my previous standings sheet. He basically just needs to finish .500 to be in good shape for the top 24. He is currently not in a playoff position in his event 4 league. So when michaelrobb11's event 4 league 9 team is wrapped up, we can start loading our teams for the top 24 championship round (based on the final seeding).

Regular season results are in from Event 4 League 6, leaving just 3 more leagues to report. Leagues 4, 5 and 6 are now in playoffs, all other events are complete. The last 3 leagues (7, 8, 9) wrap up regular seasons over the next 3 weeks.

Tiebreakers have been added to the standings where needed, for managers whose scoring is complete.

Looks like it will take at least 344 points to make the Top 24, which leaves these managers still with a chance to make it:

25. the splinter (344 pts) - With scoring complete, needs somebody above to drop out of the Top 24, and nobody below to jump ahead.

26. MrHacktastic (257 pts) - Needs 87 points in League 8 to reach 344. Currently 59 wins and 5 games out of wildcard position with 42 games left. Has to finish at least 28-14 and/or make some playoff points.

41. FoggyOne (246 pts) - Needs 98 points in League 8. So far, so good. Leads a tight division by a game, with 65 wins and 42 games left, on pace for 87-88 wins. So, a strong finish and/or good playoff showing could qualify for the Champs League.

43. mattyp (242 pts) - Needs 102 points in League 8 to reach 344. Currently 56 wins and last in division with 42 games left, 5 games out of WC. Would need to finish 31-11, and win the playoffs.

47. Dr.Publix (237 pts) - Needs 107 points in League 8 for 344. Currently 64 wins, in WC position a game behind the leader. Would need to finish 28-14, and win the playoffs.

These managers could still drop out of the Top 24:

8. michaelrobb11 (278 pts) - Needs at least 66 points in League 9. Currently last in division, 8 games out of WC with 45 wins and 63 games left. But, finishing 21-42 or better should be good enough to keep a spot in the Top 24.

14. Knerrpool (270 pts) - Needs just 74 points in League 8, has 63 wins so far with 42 games left. So, finishing 11-31 or better should be enough to hold a spot in the tourney finals.

24. SteadyEddie33 (258 pts) - Needs 86 points in League 7. Currently 70 wins and 4 games out of playoff position, with 21 to play. Needs to find another 16 points somewhere, or drop from the Top 24.

With 5 of the contenders in the same league and 4 in the same division, not likely that more than a couple of managers will actually move into or out of the Top 24. Should enough miracle hot streaks develop, it's possible that 23. exwallman and even 22. gbrookes could get bumped, but I think the Commish can rest easy!

Several other Top-24 managers also have games to play, so still some shuffling ahead for final Champions League seeding.

Thanks for the fantastic analysis mesquiton!!!!!!!!

What a strange turn of events that a bunch of the managers that are vying for the final spots are all in one division in event 4!!! Did I read that right??? If that is correct, it's not a bad outcome in a sense - they are battling each other to race for the final spot!!! Amazing race comes to the Players Championship!

Thanks so much mesquiton!!!!

Congrats to Terry101, easily wrapping up Top Seed in the 2012 PC Tournament standings with an impressive sweep to the championship in his final event! That's 3 Champs in 4 events!!!

Don't know what happened to him in Event 3, he only won 92 games and lost in the semis.... ;)

Update as of games from Wednesday night (March 6) - SteadyEddie has had a 10-2 winning streak to take the lead in his division, with 6 games to play. His team is now 2 wins ahead of the second place team in the division (jagman2882), but the tiebreaker for the division is with jagman. SteadyEddie's team's magic number for winning the division is now 5, and they finish the season with a series against jagman, for the division "pennant". He is also precisely 5 points behind the splinter for the 24th spot and a berth in the final championship tournament. SteadyEddie can get those 5 points either with the 5 wins or (just) winning the division. SteadyEddie would have the benefit of the tiebreaker with the splinter by virtue of having one a PC championship event.

There are some other players who have to close out their current estimated "final 24" positions (Knerrpool and Michealrobb11) or try to win their way into positions with big finishes (a few players), but SteadyEddie's finish might end up being the most exciting one to watch.
