Question about waivers

PostMon Mar 11, 2013 11:49 pm

If youre first waiver pick is gone before it gets to you, do you get your second pick? Or do youngest skipped for the entire round?

For ex:

I'm picking 3rd in waivers. My first 2 picks are for 1. Bagwell 2. Helton

The guy picking 4th has listed Helton 1st in his waivers

If the guy picking first selects Bagwell, do I get Helton? Or do I get skipped and Helton goes to the guy picking 4th and I lose it on both?

Make sense?

i thought the waivers were done in rounds like a draft.

what happens in previous rounds does not affect subequent rounds

although, it MAY be that if you get your pick in, say , round 1, you get 'shuffled' to the end of the list in round 2,

i may be out of date (or just wrong) but I thought that the teams always drafted in order of how much/many of their initial draft picks the didn't get (meaning, the team that got the fewest of its picks in the initial draft would draft first in the waiver draft - certainly in the first round, and I thought all the rounds.

but more importantly, if i understood your example: in that later round, if your choice is available when it is your turn to draft, you get him, regardless of what happened in previous rounds (as long as you have enough salary cap left at that point).

Waivers are done in rounds like a draft. All the activity described by motherscratcher occurs in the first round.

Guy picking first selects Bagwell.
Assuming the guy picking second in first round does not choose Helton which is possible.
So now it is motherscratcher's turn to make his first round draft pick. The first guy on his board was Bagwell who is no longer available so he goes to the next guy on his draft board who is Helton. So he stands up and calls the name Helton, hands him the cap and jersey and goes off to negotiate with Helton's agent. Just kidding on that but Helton is his.
