Old School Shuffle Chat Thread

Well, here we are again today, closing in on a full day without a pick.

Up for anything, just as long as I don't have to check in 100 times before a pick is made. Leisurely doesn't mean abrupt halt, and we seem to hit these 12 hour or more periods without a pick frequently.

With a clock on we still have not seen a pick made since last night at 7pm (and that was a fill in). With the exception of drafting my park, it really does not matter much to me on the scrubs picks. I can easily enter a auto-draft for the rest ...I already have the team bought and the players picked. (I've just been removing any players from the list as the draft goes on if they get picked by someone else). Regardless, I suspect it will take a week or longer to get all the teams loaded into a league.

Would be interested still in another shuffle league - perhaps we could start the process when this league is past the 81 game stage in the season so we might be close to staring by the time the playoffs rolled around?

I would also suggest a 17 round board draft next time (16 if no DH) which would be enough for 4 SP, 3RP, 9 hitters, and 1 park for all. Then we can autodraft the backups.

That is how we always used to do it, draft your starters and autodraft the bench.

Hope all is ok with Nels, this is a long time to not check in. Usually these long delays mean bad news...

We're now at 22 hours without a pick -- or a skip -- even though we indicated that the clock was on and skips were OK after 2 hours. There also haven't been any proxies, either... why the delay?

I am also a bit concerned about nels. No word since Monday, and he also has not entered his team in the Barnstormers finals.

I do hope he is alright.

I hope all is well also, this is just a game after all.

But on this topic, if we go to auto draft to fill out our teams, how will we ensure unique stadiums. I used an early pick to lock up mine and build a team around it, expecting to be the only team with that park.

We'll definitely need one more round for everyone to pick a unique stadium.

We will need to be complete by 4pm central Friday for me to get my team entered - I'll be unavailable the rest of Friday night.

We will go 20 rounds and autodraft the rest. I think fairness dictates that we go an even number of rounds. We either need to draft quicker or won't make the deadline to start on Monday.
