Question:

Do we have to make sure that HAL cannot shuffle around our team and put our defense down below 25?

FI: I have Wheat playing left field where he a rated a 4 and Ennis playing right where he is a 3, and then late in the game HAL decides to shift Wheat to right (where he is a 2) and Ennis to left (where he remains a 3). I also have Wine (a 1) on the bench as a backup SS, and HAL has him replace Travis (a 3). This knocks my defense below 25. I gather this wouldn't be allowed?

Sometimes we can't control what Hal does.
As long as our backups meet the requirements that would be good enough for me.

Okay, no backups can be used that drop your defense below 25. A guy like Wheat in my example gets counted as a 2 no matter where you play him. We can always talk it over some more once we draft and go through waives. That way everyone can see all the other teams. If we can time it, lets get the West filled on Saturday, have waivers on Monday, then have a week for all of us fill out our teams and meet the "25" criteria.

I have no problem playing Wheat in left as a 4. What we would have to try is make sure when we enter our lineups that our backups are also the same range or worse.
For example if I play Cecil Travis at SS (3e21) and play Miguel Cabrera at 3rd (4e18) and my backups are a 3 at short and 4 at third, I can't control Hal and his magic doing multiple switches with Travis ending up at 3rd where he is a 2. As long as we start each series in compliance it shouldn't happen very often.

On another note, I am off on a road trip so internet service will be spotty. But I will check in when I can.
