Old TSN Customer - looking for advice

PostSat Mar 16, 2013 10:51 am

I used to play fantasim and some 70's on the old TSN site. I played ATG a little bit. I never bothered to join here until now. I hope you don't mind catching me up to speed...

When they moved over here, they said they weren't starting fantasim off the bat. Anyone know if SOM started that game up yet? Anyone play 70's on here?

I am considering maybe buying some credits and playing the ATG game. How is that game working out? Is the game better now that it's on SOM then when it was on TSN? There must be a lot of improvements since TSN.

How is customer service here? It must be better than TSN, since it's their own product. Are they responsive to the community?

No mention of fantasim at all from anyone running the show I am aware of.
ATG is going about the same as always. They did add one group of players, probably half of which only useable at lower caps. There have been some improvements, most notaceable to me are better stat reporting and reverse lineups. But essential game under hood such as bullpen, platooning/PH, defensive replacement about the same or worse.

Customer service has been a debate but general consensus is not as good as with TSN. Basically boards are ignored unless you get really out of line with criticism which will get you suspended or banned. One would think eliminating the middle man would make a difference. But don't think it has. That might lead in to a broad general discussion about middle men. Eliminating that may reduce costs as no need for a third person's profit. And that bears out as price to play has been reduced. But philosphically middle man can play the role of advocate having more clout than individual customers alone. And I think there has been some of that in play.

But these are just my observations and opinions and others will probably be more favorable or more critical depending on their personal experiences. For example there was debate about reverse lineups so where you fall on that could influence which side of fence you fall on.

They have added the email notification which I think has potential to be very useful but too soon to evaluate how well it works.

In the beginning, there were some transition problems and terrible customer service, but things have improved since then. ATG7 was added, but there were no price-changes and few of the new players are even usable, so it is basically ATG6. The customer base is demanding live drafts, so promises were made to add it in the distant future. I do not even use reverse lineups. There are still RP's pitching 300+ innings. There are no late-inning platoon substitutions. They offered free teams for transition problems. They also offered a very good discount until Jan 1. They offer random free teams by lottery and for buying their products. Customer Service seems to be more active now. John G gives us a weekly update that I find useful. Overall, except for the transition, I think they have improved over TSN, but they need a quick fix on live drafts, RP over-usage, and late-innibg platoon substitutions. They also need to change the prices. I wish that they would put me in charge of price changes. I have an easy method for keeping the game fresh and challenging.

They have also improved their stats where you can see the results of defense, arm strength, etc.

I did maybe 2 or 3 live drafts on the old site. From what I remember it was somewhat popular. I am surprised SOM has not added that option yet.

Does anyone have a phone # for John G? I would like to talk to someone in customer service to see if they are going to be bringing back fantasim.
