Rare Feat

Check out Joe Evans on this division-winning team I blatantly copied from a Private Jet Mama's Boys team called "Triple Vision" which won 98 games even though it was a "theme team".

Mudville Nine

Yes folks, that's 51 triples and ZERO home runs. A .506 slugging percentage for a guy that didn't hit a single homer is pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

This team would've broken the record for triples at the 100 million salary cap if I'd used Doyle at 2B instead of Hornsby. I don't know if Petco is a better "triples park" than Forbes '57, but it seems in the right circumstances a triples team with a strong pitching staff in a home park that doesn't allow BPHRs can be a winning strategy in this freakin' game.

I could be wrong but I don't think the park matters as far as amount of triples, I believe the ballpark triples feature is turned off in the online game.

BTW- I hope to play you in the finals ;)

I'm amused that a team that runs well enough to leg out over 230 triples had just 15 stolen bases on the season. I also liked Deion's combination of 9 doubles and 35 triples.

As far as the park goes, my understanding is that the park doesn't directly affect doubles/triples. Playing in Petco, however, will turn a lot of ballpark singles into outs, which means fewer at bats, which in turn means fewer triples. I would think that a park like Royals or Forbes would be ideal for maximizing triples.

Casey, I just got 26 triples from the new Bill Dahlen card. Should make for a nice upgrade at SS  I may have to try it again.

You can effectively minimize the damage done by bomber (HR) or speed (SB) teams, but there's no countermeasures for teams like this that rely on extra-base hits or walks to generate offense.
