For starters I'm good with whatever, but in response to TefJ, I had hoped that I clearly stated that I felt this particular instance is much more than a simple name change or stadium renovation.

Simply put - the old park no longer exists as a playable field within the game. It seems to me that the if the old field truly does not exist as a playable choice, the owner should have the option to pick a new one.

For what its worth I agree with Sknsfan on this. The ballpark doesn't exist, he should be able to pick a new one. I do think it should be a park that most closely resembles the previous one though

This is all very helpful. Originally, the issue came up for me when considering Sknsfan's situation. Sun Life is no more, and Marlin Park has replaced it. Yet, nowhere in the rules does it specifically state that he must take the park that was built to replace the one he lost. Some would argue that he should have to take Marlin Park because it's associated with the team. Others would say that he is free to pick any available park. As I've considered the rules on this, which are muddy at best, I believe they at least need to be amended.

Here are what I would propose as amendments to the current rules:

CURRENT RULES
Stadium rules:
1) Each player will draft a stadium during Round 41 of the Initial Free Agent draft.
2) Stadium draft order will be the reverse of Round 1 of the Initial Free Agent draft.
3) Stadiums are unique and belong to each owner for the duration of the league. There will be no annual or seasonal draft of new stadiums, so choose your stadium wisely.
4) Stadiums can only be changed through trade. Players may trade stadiums with other players at any time except while a regular season is in progress.
5) Replacement owners will be allowed a one-time option to change stadiums upon joining the league.

AMENDED RULES: AMENDMENTS PROPOSED ARE IN BOLD
Stadium rules:
1) Each player will draft a stadium during Round 41 of the Initial Free Agent draft.
2) Stadium draft order will be the reverse of Round 1 of the Initial Free Agent draft.
3) Stadiums are unique and belong to each owner for the duration of the league. There will be no annual or seasonal draft of new stadiums, so choose your stadium wisely.
4) Stadiums can be changed through trade. Players may trade stadiums with other players at any time except while a regular season is in progress.
5) Replacement owners will be allowed a one-time option to change stadiums upon joining the league
6) An owner may select a new stadium every two years from those not currently in use, and selection will be on a first-come/first-served basis. New stadium selection will only be allowed during the drop and draft periods directly preceding free agent drafts (both annual and supplementary).
7) In the event that an MLB stadium is, for any reason, retired from use, that stadium's owner will be allowed to switch to a new stadium not currently in use.

To vote on these, we should split them up. The amendment to rule 4 is academic based on whether amendments 6 & 7 pass or fail. Yes votes are "for" the rule amendment. No votes are "against" the rule amendment.

Rule 6:

6) An owner may select a new stadium every two years from those not currently in use, and selection will be on a first-come/first-served basis. New stadium selection will only be allowed during the drop and draft periods directly preceding free agent drafts (both annual and supplementary).

Rule 7:

7) In the event that an MLB stadium is, for any reason, retired from use, that stadium's owner will be allowed to switch to a new stadium not currently in use.

Just for the record - The new Park I had mentioned to Peter as the one I would take was Comerica:

Comerica - 11/11/8/8

SunLife - 8/8/8/8

Rule 7 passes. Rule 6 is defeated. I will see if I can adjust rule 6 to accommodate all the specific objections.

Sknsfan now has Comerica Park.

Guess I didn't vote in time, but I agreed with the majority. I also think I would vote for anoher version of Rule 6, allowing anyone to change, provided it was less frequent--like maybe every 4 years--and provided there was some price to pay, such as having to use a 5th round pick to make the stadium change.

Can we begin loading if we have our rosters pretty much set?

Draft issue:

I own Travis Snider, and I just noticed that Dan drafted him in the 3rd round. He was not eligible to be drafted. I had informed the commish prior to the draft that there was an error on the SS. On the positional tab, Seth Smith should have been dropped, not Snider. It is correct on the roster tab.
