Food for thought:

I know there has been some thought that this is the slowest draft on record. However, if we finish by Wednesday morning this draft will be finished quicker than NLD 31 (17 1/2 days), as we will reach the 16 day mark at 1pm today. And that includes the delays in round 1. If we count the draft as having started on the 18th rather than the 15th then we are barely at the 14 day mark.

Considering we started on a semi-holiday weekend (St. Patricks) and are concluding over a long Easter weekend that is pretty good. A lot of the delay can be accounted for the slowness of the site. For example on Friday morning, it took me 30-40m to get a pick and 2 proxies into the site. I did not have another 30m to spare to put in another round of proxies on what was a stat holiday here in Canada as I had family commitments. And I've seen several others have the same issue - just not enough time to spare to put in a lot of proxies because of the slow site speed.

I am not sure what is causing the slowness - overuse? too much space used up on archived drafts? new server? Either way I think if the site was working at a more normal pace we would be more likely to get the draft done in the 10-12 day range as was the case in the past.

Big A is still on the clock which will expire in 5 minutes. Semper can pick if he's awake.

Semper, are you saying you want waivers to run around the 5th?

Corky, yeah, 9 balls. Just saying that's why we do it and it's worked pretty well 32 times. :)

AT, well, our start *was* certainly the slowest ever, but once we got moving, people were great and we had almost no delays. Good work fellas. I'm not sure why the site is so slow. Since it's also very slow in the middle of the night, I don't think it's from too many people using it, probably because they have never deleted any of the drafts so the database just doesn't perform very well. Clearly needs some help.

Let's skip BigA and move this thing along. Geez when you participate in a draft check in once in awhile please. This is ridiculous!

Waivers time is a non-issue when we pretty much live draft our whole team.

C'mon...

I'm sorry. This is crazy when all you got to do is set a proxy. And I completely disagree with AT. 16 damn days for a draft is ridiculous. This is going to be my last one. There's some notoriously slow draft people in this league.

How do we skip him? Semper needs to make his pick and I"m sure he's asleep.

I'm curious, how long do other LDs take? Do you guys do more than this one?

Guys, DD still isn't working for me. Not able to put in proxies, not able to pick a player. To avoid holding things up, I'll take OF Shane Victorino. Hopefully someone can skip me (or make this pick for me?), so the draft can continue.

Big A, I'll see if I can pick Victorino for you, but you'll need to send me your password.

Stoney can pick in about 30 minutes.
