Welcome to 2013, Event 1

I appreciate the positive comments I have seen so far. We do need to step up the tour and offer something more than the mundane 80/100 DH/NO DH events that has become our staple. If shuffles and once or twice a year 24 team events fits the bill and is a welcome addition to the tour, this will help to put it into the schedule for future events.

I think I achieved the shock and awe that I was looking for and the response in terms of people loading up their teams much faster than I expected. It seems to also indicate the most enthusiastic and positive first event to any previous Barnstormers Tournament. Yes Event #1 is challenging even the best players with the results of your autodraft.

I think we will see some interesting teams and perhaps some surprising early leaders come out of Event #1 as it starts playing.

I love the shuffle 24 team format.

Put your Billy Bean / MacGyver pants on and build a statistically competitive team from a reduced array of HOF type cards. Forget relying on your favorite [fill in the blank] roster scheme - that dog don't hunt anymore.

The 24 team shuffle is a great way to start. There's a whole lot more ingenuity and creativity (and luck, of course) required than with some of the "slow pitch softball" leagues that are frequently created. I am using players I didn't know we had -- they deserve a chance to show me what they can do.

Yah, the shuffle is great. I feel as a newb to BS that I have a little more of a shot at being competitive with the shuffle rather than the entire ATG cardlist.

I agree, this is a great format. This is my first SOM tournament and the 24 team shuffle format is a great introduction. How about a 24 team shuffle with a $60 mil cap?
