What's the difference between S7 and S7* for a pitcher? What does the asterisk mean?

the asterisk means the pitcher can start every 4 games (only needs 3 days rest) non-asterisk pitchers can start every 5 days

A pitcher with an * after his innings rating only needs 3 days rest before his next start. A pitcher with no * needs 4 days rest. therefore it is possible to use a 4 man rotation exclusively. This has been a strategy in the past where your 5th SP is a .50 guy who will never play, barring an injury to one of your other 4 starters.

Hope this helps.

No problem, One other thing to note, the * has an effect on the salary of the pitchers. Pitchers with an * will cost a little more than pitchers of similar ability with out it. The Innings rating also plays a part, S7's being higher prices than S5's
