Giants of Every Color: 1935-1946 + NEL DRAFTING!

The original "Angels In The Outfield " is a good movie..Paul Douglas and Janet Leigh...if you like old classics...

I thought Cobb was way over the top and didn't enjoy it. It has very little to do with baseball and is instead a movie about a crazy old man torturing all people he encounters.

I would say Stealing Home is a favorite of mine. Mark Harmon & Jodie Foster. I also enjoyed The Rookie.

My favorite baseball movie of all time is Naked Gun. The Angels/Mariners game was very realistic. When the stadium big screen was showing blooper plays like a tiger attacking a guy stealing 2nd and a player's head popping off his body when he hit the wall on a running catch.........I instantly knew this was the baseball movies of all baseball movies. Did other baseball movies have Dr. Joyce Brothers in the booth? I don't think so. Case closed!

Agree with you on Cobb - that was brutal, if not depressing.

Was Mark Harmon successful in getting Jodie to play for his side rather than "the other side"?

The Rookie, Eight Men Out, Field of Dreams, The Natural, Bull Durham, 61 in no particular order for more modern movies.
Old ones - Angels in the Outfield, It Happens Every Spring, Anything with Jimmy Stewart playing a ballplayer - who were they all - Monty Stratton, Ol' Pete Alexander, - Pride of the Yankees

I loved the excessive spitting, especially when they showed the players' wives doing it!!

And the Jay Johnstone at bat was great, as Leslie Nielson gains his umping confidence, then starts to call him out with the pitch half way to home on the third strike.

Another great jumbotron moment when he says to PP "I would have told you earlier, but I wanted to wait until we were alone", which echos through the park...

And when he leaves his mic on in the bathroom at the beginning. Great stuff.
