alomar and arod

PostFri Apr 12, 2013 8:33 pm

I'm using both of these guys for the first time in Rogers Center ... I know they're both considered duds, but if you're stuck with them, which of their cards would you use. Is it worth paying the extra two mil for one of the expensive Alomar cards -- or is the obp for the cheaper one basically as good? (I'll be using him in the 1 or 2 spot in front of a bunch of power hitters.) I'm also thinking of using the cheapest of the Arod cards.

I think you got it -- cheapest card in each case, but for different reasons.

For Alomar, the extra $2 mill gets you ballpark HRs. So if you can't take
advantage with a Bomber park, both ways as he is a switch hitter, save the
$2 mill.

The cheapest A-Rod is at 3B. In my experience, it is the least of a dud of the
three A-Rods. Sometimes that card has a decent season.

I would also expect more from A-Rod's cards than from Alomars based on
experience. I would just hate to depend too much on either.
