Semper, I think DJ has taken over your throne as King of the Waiver moves! ;)

:)

Well, I don't usually do much until after enough games have been played to have a reading on the pitching usage and, in some cases, the lineups. I have to say, that it makes it interesting to me when people add in their own thoughts on their teams, vis-a-vis the ratings, or just their own observations.

If I get a chance tonight, I'll make some general comments that aren't so rating centric.

Had an interesting first game last night with Big A, the two of us hit 8 HRs. Now, we're hardly power teams, but when you don't miss any of the six 1-10 BPHRS we rolled between the two of us, you're going have a bunch I guess. Unfortunately we lost in extras. :( Willingham hit a two out, two run HR to get it to extras (1-10 of course), but Wieters hits his own 1-10 in teh top of the 10th.

At least we won the other two.

Injuries hurt us tonight. Losing your 5 and 6 hitters v LHP when you're facing two doesn't allow you to score much. :( We're not a deep team, injuries will be important for us to avoid.

At least we get Willingham back in game 2 in the next series.

Brandon Moss slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Shanghai Capitalists defeated the Smogville Beach Boys by a score of 6 to 2 at Progressive Field '12.

Moss made sure the Shanghai fans enjoyed themselves. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 4th of the season) in the 7th inning. Shanghai had 13 hits overall, while Smogville had 6.

Brandon Moss had 4 hits as the Shanghai Capitalists clobbered the outmatched Smogville Beach Boys, 16 to 6.

It seemed that Smogville pitching was serving up softballs for Moss to hit. He doubled in the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 2nd inning, electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run (his 5th of the season) in the 3rd inning and stroked a base-hit knocking in a run in the 4th inning. Shanghai kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning with 5 runs on 3 hits, the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits and the 3rd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Smogville was out-hit by Shanghai, 18 hits to 11.

I'd posit that Moss brought his bat to Joe's team along. The interesting part is 5 home runs with his card sporting -1 on hitter rolls. I can't wait until he enjoys a few extra rolls on his card. :D

Thought I'd post this team...was my first with the 2012 set. So far 70-62...thought they'd be better...has several of the sought-after big bats: Moss, McCuthchen, Hamilton, Wright, Butler, Choo. Choo's been the biggest disappointment so far...lovin' my Brantly/Montero catcher platoon. (combined .280, 26 hrs, 88 rbi)

Anyway...enjoy!

Semper,

If Moss continues to roll in the 2 column all game long, you won't need to roll on his card more than 50/50 (and, 14 versus 15 isn't much of a difference in rolls). We'll see how he does when we get to our park.

Keyz,

It's a good team, but I find it hard to judge 100 mil teams. With the extra cap, there tend to be a fair number of good teams.

Should be a fun season!

I hope my JTJ rating is poor. Then I know I'll stand a chance! 8-) ;)
