Is there anything that can be done regarding Cubit releasing one of my players before tomorrow night's games begin? I have emailed Cubit to two of his addresses, PM'd him, and requested he drop my player in both this forum and the one at the league site. Cubit has been down and out in Boston without access for whatever reason. I emailed Stratomatic and hope to have Keppinger and Carter placed on the correct teams before the start of the league.

As for Carter, I believe he is mine and was picked legitimately. I just became aware of this "controversy" as I try to review my roster.

Here is the current link to the rosters. There is not a record here of Carter being picked by either of you since we lost the thread for a while and I lost last year's draft. Earlier on the thread, Rant suppiled the old link showing both picks. Not sure how it was not caught. I did not notice it earlier and for that I apologize. I have sent you a PM with compensation plans that was also offered to Rant. It seems both of you prefer to have Carter, though.

The alternative plan to what I offered in PM would be for each of you to have him for 1 of our 2 seasons. Each team would then get an extra prospect pick and be allowed to have an extra FA from the remaining pool. Going forward into 2014, the owner who does not keep him would get a FA pick as compensation equal to his value in 2014. 5 million = 1st round, .50 = 8th. Since the original error was by you (and then made worse by my editing error). I think Rant should have him going forward if he so chooses.

After that Round 8 got deleted and we moved onto Round 9, where you had traded away a pick. You popped up again in Round 10 to take Bryan Bixler but never made the repick.

Turtle, you have been far more than fair with me in my struggles with getting back on my feet in this League, and I am in no position to expect favors or help. Obviously, I never noted the Carter issue and it was never brought to my attention and I clearly planned to use him this year and for years to come, though I still hung to Howard out of hope.

It does seem that there was an error made and ultimately it was my error, so I think I should accept whatever decision you make, letting Carter go to his rightful owner. I have not checked the PM, but whatever you proposed there will be fine with me.


On another matter: As a general principle, Habbersett Scrapple are desperately in need of a shortstop (and a lot of other things). Any offers would be welcome.

I did not get a chance to check here, but see there was no final resolution posted on the board here. I presume Carter should be back on the original drafting team?

Before I ended up in Boston and lost access to our league I attempted to drop Carter-- I did drop the other player-- but I failed to pick a substitute for him so HAL apparently missed the deal and I was unable to check in until today. I have been a total screw up in our league this year, not out of disrespect for you all, but due to circumstances not entirely of my own making, but ultimately serving as a manager in a Keeper league is my responsibility.

I only regained access to 24TKL tonight and found the situation and learned that my picked rosters had not been picked or my lineups set either. The computer managed my club to their current stellar record. Well, my standings reflect the results, but I evidently played Carter until tonight, chosen by HAL for me. I do not know what penalty you think is appropriate, but one is probably due. I thought things were all arranged before I had to take off again for Boston and my step-mother's memorial service.
