Just got through watching "42" a short time ago. At the end of the movie, Jackie hits a homerun off of Fritz Ostermueller, who was my most recent selection. The reason why I selected FO was because I wanted to have a left handed relief pitcher, and he seemed the best of those who were still available. In the movie, however, FO was a right handed pitcher. I thought that if they went to the trouble of trying to portray everything historically, they would have at least had FO throwing with the correct arm (and Baseball Reference does confirm that FO was a LHP). So I found that disappointing. I was also disappointed that the movie did not include any portrayals of the 1947 World Series.
Soooo, I would rank the movie about a 6.5/10. Having watched it, however, makes me want to purchase the 1947 season and do a replay.
