I wouldn't say that Trout was a minor disappointment. His Strat stats are actually quite close to his real life stats, which is pretty good in a $100 million cap league. (Strat- .324.408 .555, 35 HRs 110 RBIs, 49 SB 9 CS, real life - .326 .399 .564 30 HRs 83 RBIs 49 SB 5 CS). Pretty true to life, and maybe better than expected in a $100 Mil Cap league.
I think that with Trout you can get value from other aspects of his game, as well as his hitting. E.g. great defense, 49 SB vs 9 CS, 20 extra bases taken in 28 opportunities, and only got caught running twice.
