Hope this helps...
Some random examples:
Pete Kozma. He can play the field @ 2B since he's a 4 there. Or he can DH since he's a 3 @ SS. He CANNOT play the field @ SS. If HAL uses him during the 3 games played @ night, so be it.
Andre Ethier. Cannot be used ANYWHERE. (3 in CF and a 2 in RF)
Matt Carpenter. Can be used in the field @ RF/LF & 2B. OR can DH. He CANNOT play the field @ 1B or 3B.
Allen Craig. Can be used as a DH or fielder anywhere.
Mark Trumbo. See above
When all is said and done, you'll have 8 position players with a 4 or worse defensive rating. Their backups must be 4's as well. HAL will shift players around during the 3 games run @ night, and a player with multi-positions could end up with a "better" defensive rating at a position. ie. A 4 rated player injured and a 2 or 3 rated backup moved to his spot.
If the injured player is out for more than a nights games, you must MANUALLY enter a 4 backup for him.
ie. Pujols (@ 3B where he's a 4) goes down for 3 games, in the 3rd game of the night. HAL has Jose Batista (3 @ 3B) come in. Joey Bats plays out the game. The next day since Pujols is still out 3 games, you must put Bautista back in RF and substitute your 4 or worse defender @ 3B.
