ANDY'S SHUFFLE/KEEPER LEAGUE

I confess I like Andy's idea of 5/4/3-year contracts. It adds a dimension to the game I've never experienced. But I've also not been in a shuffle league yet, so I'm good with whatever we do.

I'm currently in season 5, the last season, of my keeper league with the "newer" cards.

The seasons spanned from 2007- 2011. We used UNLEASHED when it was available.

We live drafted 8 players before we started. Those players HAD to be on your roster for ALL 5 seasons, including the bad seasons if they had one. If they didn't have a card, so be it. All players had to have cards in 3 of the 5 seasons to be eligible.

We allowed trades, but had to announce if it was for 1 season or all 5 seasons.

That being said, I'm in for anything we conjure up here.

The easier the better, of course. I needed a 3rd cup of coffee this morning to fully understand what Andy was talking about...

My 2 cents...

I think we need to first figure out how many shuffled seasons we want. I'd go for 3-5 seasons.
I think we need to settle in and decide on a figure for each season. $80 million -$100 million.
A live draft would be nice, say for 4-6 players before we start. Or we could just enter our teams. autodraft them, run waivers and THEN choose our keepers for the 3-5 seasons.

OK, what I am hearing is the simpler the better.

As far as limits on keeping a player, there will be NONE. The likelihood of being able to keep a player forever will be greatly mitigated by the shuffle. And, just in case, no, you can't "keep" a player who is not in the current season's shuffle.

We will hold a 6-round draft on this thread. I will randomize it and we will start today.

I will update the rules at the top of this thread so all the rules will be in one place.

I do hear a request to keep the cap the same. Is that the wish of the majority?

I still plan on the season-winning manager being able to select the number of players in the shuffle.
