How do relievers tire?

I mean is there some hidden fatigue other than the standard fatigue rating on the card? I"m trying to understand why Belisario sucks so bad for me in this 24 team league

I'm new also, but...

He is only an R1/C0.

He started out at F0 when he came in the last game.

Actually all the walks he gave up had nothing to do with fatigue. Just bad "rolls".

I think a RP needs rest after 2 consecutive appearances. So they can go XX0XX0XX0 without fatigue.

Maybe an expert would know, but I think how fast they fatigue within a game is a black box.

that last game was his third game of the series, it was an extra inning game and he was the last pitcher available, so I understand that game. BUT..overall he still sucks!

Yeah, he entered the game at F0. That's always really bad news for the team in the field. I've read on other posts by veterans that the level of tiredness actually GETS WORSE with every additional batter faced, even after you hit F0. In other words, there are (theoretically) minus levels of endurance - they just don't get displayed.

The actual mechanism is a mystery, except that managers have noted that there tend to be more batter card results. In my own view (anecdotally) I see pitchers giving up more of everything that is bad, from walks, to base hits, to homeruns.

I try to consider this when making my pitcher settings for a given night. (I pick a couple of favorite teams that I change the settings for each night, and the rest get a kind of default setting that I might change every couple of weeks). So, for example, if you're playing in Coors one night, you may wish to get all of your pitchers to stay in the game even when a little tired (using "slow hook", or "don't relieve before F8" with quick hook). That way, hopefully, you might use a few pitchers, but still have a few pitchers who are still fresh in the bullpen each night. (In other words, hopefully you don't use all of your pitchers 2 games in a row, with none left in the third game). I really hate getting stuck with a reliever coming in who is F0.

Not exactly going to make you feel better, but it's more information for making roster and strategy decisions down the road.

I use a couple S6/S3 players as starters and in extra innings, HAL will use them in relief.

I think they only need one day of rest to start again after relief work. But they start at F0 in their relief appearances if they don't have the 4 games rest.

I do not believe that there is a fatigue factor as I always see RP's with 100+ to 200+ innings. People say there is but I never see it. SGT D

Go to your game in the play by play screen. to the far right it will show what fatigue level the pitcher is at. F9 is 100% rested

that's a lot of innings for a R1/C0. I've had the reliever meltdown a few times -giving up double digit hits and runs as evil HAL laughs.
