Season 3 has come down to a game 7 battle between Rigged Splits' Elephant Butte Peanuts and sphilipp8's RI Knights.

Meanwhile, Season 4 is almost ready to launch with just one manager left to load. I'd like to thank all the managers in this league; this is an extraordinary group!

Congratulations to the Knights! I thought the Peanuts had it in the bag but then in came Leskanic, the right hand specialist at blowing saves, and Canseco sealed our fate.

I just looked at the seasons. I was completely fooled by Fossas' best year. He was horrible for me and was my best pitcher. I thought Leskanic might be his 9R season but he was even. It was a great idea to make him a specialist. I guess I won't be getting any manager of the year honors.

Congratulations to the Knights!

Let me add my congratulations to the Knights. I thought it was ironic they won game 7 by one run. They were 11-22* in 1-run games in the regular season while the Peanuts were 26-19.

*PS. This gives me hope in another league. I have a team in a $60M 90s league that was 11-22 in 1-run games a couple of days ago,and they've lost two more 1-run games since.

Congratulations to sphilipps! Great to bring a world series championship back to Rhode Island. Reminds me of their great championship win against New York back in '84 when Charles "old Hoss" Raybourn won 3 games en route to a series sweep. Unfortunately for Rhode Island, the Providence Grays folded the following year bringing an end to Rhode Island's dominance of professional baseball. A couple other interesting tidbits from Rhode Island's victory in the first ever postseason interleague series - overhand pitching was not allowed and New York's losing pitcher from games 1 and 2 umpired the third game. The Grays still hold the major league record for the largest score in a shutout victory, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 28-0 in August 1883. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Providence_Grays

any word on what time fatdaddy plans to load his team? I'd like to stop checking every 10 minutes.

He didn't say.

Every 10 minutes you say? Wow! You realize anything more frequent than every 15 minutes like I do is a sign of OCD!

Thanks for the congratulations. This championship was pretty sweet. My team had a bunch of injuries to key guys in the playoffs but got lucky and won anyhow. So my 87 win injury-riddled wild card team wins it all but my 111 win team last season loses in the first round. Go figure.

Franky - That's funny you brought up the Providence Grays. A few years ago there was a vintage baseball league that played with the 1880s rules including playing bare-handed. One of the teams was the Providence Grays and I saw them play before a Pawtucket Red Sox game (Boston's AAA team). I remember thinking that those guys were nuts.
