Another question - do we have to draft an "autodraft" compatible team or can we fix our roster during the preseaon?

Scott, I'm not sure I understand the question. Your 22 keepers are set. They are yours. The other three players can be dropped or traded as you see fit. We might go ahead and have a three-round draft of free agents after our keeper draft.

I'm sure there are other questions, so fire away.

Here's the draft order based on the randomizer requested in the ATG Forum. This will be a serpentine draft.

A number of managers have contacted me indicating that they will be unable to start tomorrow. With that in mind our draft will start Thursday morning. Use the time between then to consider the available keepers.

Paul - I believe when you enter your team SOM restricts your roster to 11 pitchers and 14 hitters. When we put our team together via the keeper draft and free agent draft is it ok to have, for example, 10 pitchers and 15 hitters?

Ahhhhhh. I am slow on the uptake today Scott. It is ok to have any number of pitchers/position players that SOM allows and that make up 25 roster spots.

You can get around this by loading with an 11th scrub pitcher and the dropping him in favor of your 15th position player. We can have a gentleman's agreement not to pickup anyone else's players until everyone has had an opportunity to load their original drafted team.

With the announcement of the draft starting on Thursday, I have secured Radio City Music Hall to host the first two rounds of the draft broadcast live on MLB network, hosted by Harold Reynolds and Mitch Wild Thing Williams. This is prime time at a classy joint, so I expect all owners in black tie, except for Wootten, who if he shows up in a clean t-shirt will be sufficient. Oh and one last thing, no flirting with the Rockettes.

Just more East Coast bias. Fred trying to usurp the authority of the commish. Well nice try buddy, but no go. I've secured the public meeting room at the Wal Mart on Blue Ridge right here in KCMO. Wear your black tie if you want, but I'm not guaranteeing your safety as you walk past the bus stop on the way from your car to the store.

You've booked the Walmart? I'll have Hertz change my car rental reservation to the fully loaded custom stretch El Camino. Also , MLB Network will be sending John Kruk to do live remotes, provided you've sprung for the all you can eat Walmart ribs.

I'm going to be tied up most of the afternoon but will set up the draft later today. In the meantime, if someone wishes to double-check the master lists, please do. If not, we'll assume my list is what we'll use.

Does anyone think they'll have trouble checking in during the draft? If so, I will be happy to send text updates or e-mails when your turn comes up. If interested let me know via the e-mail above. I've been in leagues where we did text updates and they worked very well. It's those 20-hour delays between draft picks that drive people nuts.

I'm adding one additional rule. A team's number of keepers can never be more than three less than that year's base number. Keeper numbers can go as high as 25. This will eliminate the opportunity for a manager to trade all his draft picks and then get to select a totally new team.

OK, back later. Thanks for signing up. I'm excited about the draft.

I fixed the email and resent it- thanks Paul!

Re Walmart - nice!

I went on a business trip once where my suitcase didn't arrive. I didn't do the common sense thing and pack clothes for the morning in my carry-on, so I ran out to Walmart that night to get a shirt. The funniest thing was that I thought that 2 other guys the next day had the same shirt!

I guess you can dress them up...wait...how does that go?

Anyway, I can wear my Walmart shirt for the draft!
