My best teams always seem to have good pitching. I think if you get hitters that fit your park well you can have success spending on pitching rather than trying to outslug everyone. For me that usually ends up in the 40% spent on pitching range. Obviously there are other ways to skin a cat, though. And I keep trying them to varying success.
A good rule of thumb, I've found, is to do the oposite of whatever FUDU suggests. He's clearly an imbecile.
