Is Super Moss really Worth It?

OK this guy seems to be almost everyones 1st pick in the draft and have seen posts on here about what a stud this guy is but after 5 leagues and of course having him in every one I am not seeing it. While he has power he is a average defender and can miss time with injury. In all the games my teams have faced him and there have been plenty, he has only had one good game. Also it seems the teams he is on are anywhere from just above .500 all the way to 30 games under so he is not the key to a title by no means . Maybe its just me but I would rather build a team around Encarnacion or Fielder. Any thoughts?

Killer card for 8MIL and can play 1B, LF and RF and not suck at any of them. 3 HR rolls in any park along with 3 more BPHR chances and doesn't hit onto DP's like say Cabrera does. Not great OBP but runs pretty good at 1-12. Had him twice and he hit 39 hr's batting against RHP mostly and in the other he hit 64 with a .304/.361/1.014 slash at Rogers.

The sky is the limit with this guy and has the best card of them all IMHO in any $80MIL cap league. To make a short story long YES!

I must just be getting very lucky vs him then as I mentioned I been in 5 leagues against him and he is not part of a winning situation or is head and shoulders above lesser valued sluggers.

Moss can hit 50 HR's in AT&T. first in "clean" HR's and 2nd in total bases vs righties. One of the few lefty sluggers that can hit a lefty and for power. 3 position flexibility. He's not the best player in the set, but he's a great value and he works in ANY ballpark!

you're right he sucks. No one should draft him he just isn't worth. Your team won't win, better off with anyone but him

best record in the league, and he was 2nd (behind Miggy who ended up with a triple crown!) in HR's playing in Fenway. It took Miggly playing in a HR Haven to beat him. Best TB's and Pure HR's in the set vs RH pitching. What isn't to like.

Got him at Miller Park team was 92-70 Moss line goes like this 302/363/660 52 dingers and he missed 20 games but we made the finals pretty much a beast

Wow, totally different view from here. He has an unequalled card against righties and is no slug against LH's. I've had him 3 times all with very good teams. For his salary, low injury factor (see Votto, Stanton, Ortiz, etc.), 18.2 non ballpark HR's, multiple positions as a 3 (see 4-5's Ortiz, Cabrera, Butler, etc.) I'll take him every time.

He's a bum.
Over-priced in ANY league.
Leave him on the FA pile...

geeez, everyone gets all sarcastic on my a** for posting about the guy. he has done nothing in any of my leagues to warrant him being a number 1 on a draft card and until I am in a league where he outperforms some of the 5 mil sluggers I will keep the same opinion. I say everyone keep putting him first on the draft card as it will mean hal will make draft decision for 10 others while one person gets him and I can get my number one pick
