He has rolled about even for the season 95-102. He hit on exactly half of his BPHR chances, which isn't very good at a home park that is 1-16 for those and I'm in a generally favorable league for parks. But he's only had 6 chances there, so yup a small sample size. I'm sure this is, as has been said above, just a unlucky example. Batting 4th or 5th he only has 22 RBIs to go along with his 12 dingers, which is really bad for my team.

He is on pace for 248 strikeouts, which I guess is something! :)

Totally agree with what geekor posted about sometimes you just have a bad season with a hitter. I remember many seasons ago ( I am sure geekor and MichaelG remember this as I recognize their names from back then) Bonds had this very pricey card, probably from the season he hit the homer record. I got the guy for my team and then watched him hit .240 or something insane like that. I remember being so happy to have gotten him in the draft as he was todays Moss, everyone had him on their list. Maybe I am still scarred from that experience haha

Just in the 5 leagues I have taken part of he is hitting anywhere from .270 to .300 and not even in the top ten in homers or ribbies in three of them. Maybe in my next five leagues he will crush it but I have not seen it myself yet!

Sebastian - if you are measuring his worth via RBI, then you are looking at the wrong indicator, as it measures the lineup around him, not his own production, unless you strip out HRs when he is driving himself in.

I have not drafted high enough in my keeper leagues to get him, but I would not hesitate to draft him for a hitter park/div.

Really, with his card, you are just looking for SLG or isolated power. He has 22% XBH vs RHP on his card which is why you are buying. So take a look at his #s vs RHP and see how close he is to those figures. Given pitcher card rolls, I'd expect a good season from him to show 12-15% XBH vs RHPs.

Also, assuming you are not platooning him, I would be careful not to bat him cleanup or 5th vs. LHP, his card vs. that side features fewer XBH and poor clutch, which could affect his BA a bit over a year. I would have him bat 2nd vs reverse LHPs and 7th or 8th vs regular LHPs.

Hope that helps.

Thanks QK. I only attemted to draft him twice and that was when I first started playing the game and decided that if I put anyone else but him on my draft card number 1 I would my first pick as everyone else was going for Moss haha. I may attempt once again in a future league to try and draft him.
Great to see you still playing the game ! I used to go by the handle Loobee way back when. I quit playing in 05 because I could not take how TSN was running the game anymore. The game has really improved here on Strats own site. Maybe catch up with you in a league sometime!

Hey absolutely remember playing with you before. I mostly play keeper leagues now but signed up for the 1st time in years to do the Player's Championship. Likely to get my a$$ handed to me since I don't play autodraft leagues now but what the hell.

I can't get the 1st pick because I've tried 5 times to get Moss---but he has killed me in every league but one, and that one is still going so jury still out.
