I agree with Geekor. Pitching-wise, I usually spend roughly 10-12 mill on SP (I have done one as low as 6M in the Cell). I like the super reliever style.. I've used Avilan a lot in this set for that.. It's pretty easy to find cheap RP's and also effective L or R slanted ones.
I love having guys who walk and homer in hitting parks. Walks might not seem like much, but believe me, they lead to a lot of huge innings, and you probably know that from when you are on the opposing team!
I usually spend around 20 mill on pitching and 60+ on hitting. That way you can get a really stacked lineup.
In fields like Coors, I aim for .500 SLG and 5 ERA. That usually ensures success.
BTW: This is mostly for 80M. For 100+ mill, it makes more sense to go with a stacked rotation, as you might expect (although it's harder to get those expensive pitchers, of course)
