Bought my 1st set in '66 (based on the '65 season). Started playing online 2001. I've been in the same PBM continuous ownership league (TABL) since 1986. Went by Frank Zappa Lives !!! until the move to SOM site. Real name is Drew Elliott and I am 61.

I'll admit to seeing Bob Feller pitch in my first ML game and to watching the likes of Teddy Ballgame and Joe Di. But despite what Andy says, I never saw Addie Joss.

I know you never saw Joss, Tom. He died in 1911. It was Ed Walsh that Tom saw pitch. ;)

I'm 47. Saw my first game in Texas in 1977. Ken Singleton hit a 3-run homer off Doyle Alexander in the first inning. Alexander settled down and didn't allow another run. In the 9th, trailing 3-2, the Rangers tied the game when Jim Sundberg doubled to left-center, driving in Toby Harrah. Alexander went back out for the 10th and shut Baltimore down again. Harrah drove in Beniquez with a single to win the game.

Newbie here - I'm 31 - but I love baseball and its history (got a closet of baseball books). Last read - about the 16 in. gem between Marichal and Warren Spahn. Why isn't that game available on DVD?

Bought my first Strat-O-Matic set in 1964 using the 1963 season. Saw my first game at County Stadium which matched Warren Spahn vs Bob Friend. Now that I'm 62 and retired I've started playing the on-line game. It's a whole lot more complicated that the board game was back in 1964, but a lot of fun and a challenge.

There were several such threads on the old boards. I created the last one which started with "Allow me to introduce myself" etc. I know two guys who were older and passed away. Old geezer (cancer), and I believe Pokie (diabetic complications). Dave Herman (WPLJ and WNEW DJ is NYC 60's-80's) is 75. The manager formerly know as greyhond is over 70 as well. Probably the mean age is somewhere mid-to-late 50"s for the guys who play here. Don't know of anyone who is under 30 and currently active. This, of course, makes it even more ludicrous that SOM has chosen to alienate it's aging customer base. It probably doesn't help either that the CEO apparently doesn't even know what ATG is. But so it goes.

Just hit the big 40. I started playing online ATG in 2001, when I was still in my 20s. I loved the board game when I was a kid, started up again out of nostalgia (and as a great way to procrastinate in grad school), and here I am.

I'm 39 and I started playing online SOM in 2004--when I was 30. I have never played the SOM board game, but I have done some Netplay. Despite the fact that I grew up near Kansas City, my first MLB game was July 14, 1985 at Wrigley Field. The Cubs beat the Dodgers 10-4. Ryno hit two homeruns.

I am 48. Started playing in 1982. Jeff Burroughs was my big star, not sure of the year. My first league, four of us formed, using using the '82 set. Played a 162 game season. The four of us are still good friends.
A friend of mine played the entire 1986 season for every team. That's a lot of dice rolls :!:
