According to prospect rules Appel is a good pick since he has signed with the Astros while Bryant would be ineligible since he has yet to sign with the Cubs.Am I correct??? This is one of the reason I dont like including this years draft in the prospect draft.

4) Only players without MLB experience (prior to the current MLB season being played), and signed by a MLB team, are eligible for any prospect draft.

I agree with Hawk. It makes life a lot easier if this years prospect picks aren't included, plus makes the spring draft a lot deeper. I think in the past we have not included the June draft players.

...on a side note I don't have any prospect picks as I traded them both away.

Course I just read an article where Scott Boros has arrived in Houston to continue negotiations with them on Appel so he is not yet signed(contrary to earlier reports) either so he too is ineligible to be drafted

I thought we changed the rule to not allow any players from the current year draft as well, as that could cause big problems. For instance, with Bryant. Whoever has the current pick can just wait until he signs, since there's no clock...

Gents,

You cannot start drafting yet. I created the thread out of convenience for me. That draft cannot start until the SUPP draft is over.

Additionally, there is a rule issue that needs addressing.

All picks made thus far are void. I will announce when we are ready.

In the meantime, we need to clarify the prospect drafting rules as they read differently than what has historically been done.
