Well, I know better than to comment on someone else's team. My team takes a powder every time I do. :(

Seven straight losses.

I know our starting pitching isn't great, but we're counting on Kontos and the other RPs to pick up the the slack. Kontos is killing us and Gallardo, after getting back to about where he should be, has balloned back up.

Of course we won't have it as bad as Winterfell. I dont' think they're NEARLY *this* bad. Wow. I actually think his team is pretty decent.

I think Dennis has a good team, too. Can't understand what it's doing back there and it worries me for when he starts to balance out. Joe, I'm interested in your analysis of the league as we go through it. I know you don't do a real analysis on a league like this, but your impressions are usually right on, and even when I disagree, I'm entertained by reading them. Tell us what you think.

Need a bit more time to get a read on the pitching usage and, honestly, I just haven't had the time to run through the teams yet.

I will however, I will. :)

I hope you guys don't mind me posting. I've played against Joe and edge for years, and I'm bored in the business class lounge in Dubai. 8-)

First of all, things didn't turn out too well for the 'real' dire wolves of Winterfell, so name your team after them at your own peril!

And Joe, I'm not sure you've got your salary balance right with this team. Heyward is over priced, and not great value for Kauffman. Trout is obviously destroying the league, but he can't carry you alone (he sure is trying though!). I bet you'd have been happier with Aoki for a lot less.

Pitching wise, you have 2 relievers getting no innings, so they should be priced at .50. And I think I counted that you'd spent a scant 23m on pitching overall. I'm not sure that will get it done. Fun to watch though!

Hey Big M,

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I wanted Aoki over Heyward, but someone beat me to him. :(

This team is an experiment for me. I tried to get as much hitting v RHP as I could. Had to make some adjustments for LHP and picked up Marte to help with that.

I got Cishek to close, but when you've only won 16 games he's not going to pitch a lot. Yeah, perhaps I could have gotten someone cheaper, but I like to have at least one of the two late inning guys have a little bit of balance. Wright is only .71 so I don't think I really over spent on him.

As for the amount spent on pitching, yeah, you're right, but our D is pretty darn good even with Kearns in LF the hope is that the D will help make up for a mediocre starting pitching staff and the combo of Villarreal, Kontos and Tazawa can keep us in games until our O can score runs. So far Kontos has killed us with 4 BS, but the other two have been fine. You know how well Kontos pitched for us in the last NLD so I'm hoping he comes around.

So, it may not get it done, so far we're +1 in run diff and 4 under so the timing has been a bit off. Luckily no one in the division is running away with it.

Sorry to intrude into a chat for League I'm not a member of, but I'm hoping you might provide some guidance.

I used to play Statis-Pro as a kid, similar to Strat-O-Matic. So, I was curious to enter this. I joined a Free Trial League to test it out, but now that I've ranked my players for the draft, I'm getting excited.

Does anyone know how long the wait normally is for a Trial League to form? What about the wait for a standard league if I go ahead and pay to join one?

Thanks for your time.

Dipsos,

Personally I haven't done a trial league so I don't know. I know this league took about 4 days to fill.

Perhaps if you put out a request to fill your league on the Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online 20xx forum people would jump in.

Hmmm...I wonder if anyone else has had this problem...

I checked my team pitching and hitting settings today and they had been erased...all boxes unchecked and my relief settings removed...this is the second time I've had this happen...some kind of bug?...anyone else have this problem?...HAL been drinking again?...check your settings now and then, just in case...:}

Looking forward to being home!...27 of my first 39 on the road (with a team built for my unbalanced ballpark)...

Hey Bomp,

did you just start a new team? If you use the back button I think it can do funny things switching betweeen teams.

My settings are still there however.
