Wow that was simple enough now that the last guy said that that's why he got pulled for a PH

I keep forgetting about the no DH. I hate the DH in real life, and remain an avid National League fan, but in STRAT I only play with the DH because Hal isn't good enough to manage a non-DH team.

I've played many many seasons, so I feel kind of stupid asking this, but what exactly are the F settings and where are they located?

Steve F my setting are identical to yours as far as roles go---

and as for the other comment I knew Rodney was pinch hit for--I don't agree it was the correct move--two outs in ninth, your best pitcher in game, and not tired--no one on base and Hal pinch hit a guy W from both sides of the plate--only a double or triple & error to an OfX has a chance--though I can accept that weak AI, it should be better.

the lefty that went in to start 10th I have set at f7--he pitched to one hitter, still at f9--HAL took him out, and put in a weaker pitcher---I don't have L or R box checked--nothing checked--just set to F7--all I want to know is why??--I appreciate comments like I shouldn't set f ratings--but the SoM wiki says it will leave a pitcher in until the f point that you set (if you set it) and the AI does not. I see this many times. I do not want to see one batter relief appearances by a parade of pitchers--if it happens two games in a row (which happens a lot) you have no fresh relievers for the next game--I know mine come into games tired--I am trying to avoid that. The loss is almost secondary to me--I wanted Marshall to stay in until he got weaker--(hell I really wanted Rodney to stay in until he lost)---I don't see this happening to starters that have f ratings set--HAL won't even pinch hit for them--if the f settings for relievers are not the same why have them. I want to set my closer & setup to mid f ratings--they are better pitchers than my starters. And I don't want a mop up man put in in that situation--but that happens too.

@l.strether
It's the fatigue factor... As your pitcher tires, he goes from F9 down to eventually F0. Under "pitcher prefs", you can use the "Don't Rel. B4" dropdown to tell the computer to leave a pitcher in until he reaches a certain level of fatigue. (But apparently, it doesn't work very well!)

On the first page you said that you had Marshall set to F7 but also Quick hook don't you think that is contradictory and maybe confusing the AI on how you want him relieved for also it just the nature of the game you PH for pitchers 9th on no matter how many out

If he set for quick hook or not--what difference does that make?--the AI took him out before the F factor I designated.

I checked and he is not set for anything--Wright (on the team also) is set for quick hook and is the pitcher I had confused him with in the opening post & tried to correct with the immediate follow.
