experience with Everth Cabrera in $80M leagues?

PostMon Jun 24, 2013 7:09 pm

Hi everyone,

Looking for stats on Everth in $80M leagues, hard to get a read on him from the $200M keeper leagues I mostly play. Any experiences/stat links you can share would be appreciated, and also where you hit him in the order would be helpful.

I am torn between leadoff (great speed but OB less than ideal) vs. 7th or 8th (more clutch opportunities where his poor clutch will hurt him, but low DPs a bonus).

Thanks,
Qk

Never used him, though thought about it a few times.

He seems better suited for the 2 hole (4 gbA's) or in the 8th/9th spot.

Thanks Visick. I have been reading about use of the #2 lineup slot and not putting a weak hitter there as it tends to come up in the 9th inning in key situations. Here are the lineup alternatives I am considering:

Lineup A:
Cabrera SS
Headley 3B
Ortiz DH
Moss RF
Zobrist 2B
Laroche 1B
Kottaras C
Wise LF
Rasmus CF

Lineup B:
Zobrist 2B
Headley 3B
Ortiz DH
Moss RF
Laroche 1B
Kottaras C
Wise LF
Cabrera SS
Rasmus CF

Leaning towards B now but still undecided...

I just don't think, IMO, he's got enough OB to lead off...

I'd go with B, it bunches your best players at the top of the lineup

Yep, that was my feeling too. Zobrist not a ton more OB but some, and no clutch issues if that spot comes up in 9th...

I had him batting leadoff or 2nd, but he probably was better suited for the 8th hole.

To many teams, not enough time! Must be an addiction!!

not 80 mil (100) but been horrible in the 9th spot (though not hurting my team it seems)

Skip, at least he basically hit his card in your example. I was hoping to see some examples where he played above his card due to platooning, but seems like that is tough to achieve. Oh well, not counting on him for my offense so that's good but definitely looking like 8 or 9 hole....

I used him on my first 2012 team in a platoon and he only hit .209 with a obp of .291 I think the only positive was he had 32 steals in 86 games
