no hitter by committee after starter is injured

PostWed Jun 26, 2013 11:36 pm

here's something you don't see every day

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/game/346361/809

Pitchers IP H R ER BB SO HR PC ERA
D. Gee 5.2 0 0 0 0 7 0 59 4.08
J. Horst 2.1 0 0 0 0 3 0 28 3.62
F. Rodney 1 0 0 0 1 1 0 27 2.45
Totals 9 0 0 0 1 11 0

(And, seriously, HOW STUPID is the pitcher injury in online SoM? Get rid of it -- idiotic to have pitcher injuries.)

meanwhile, HAL just got fired for sleeping on the job as a sports reporter:

Jeremy Horst(3-2) joined a select group of baseball pitchers in Finnegan by tossing a perfect game as the Finnegan Wakes defeated the Florence Whiskers 2 to nothing.

Finnegan had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. After two outs Chase Headley kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Miguel Cabrera stepped up to the plate and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 33rd of the season). Finnegan had a total of 7 hits for the game.

Fernando Rodney earned the save, his 33rd. The losing pitcher was Tim Hudson(12-7). Horst was in a jubilant mood after the game. 'If I'd known I was going to throw a no hitter I would have gotten a haircut!' he said, much to the delight of the clubhouse gathering.

Awesome game result for you!

I think the pitcher's injury question is like the DH / no DH debate - it could go on forever!

But as you noted, HAL really blew the game description!!! Lot's of logical oopsies in that programming! Oh well!

Why should pitchers be exempt from injuries? I can't believe this is even controversial.

Congratulations Clowntime that is a hell of a job by your bullpen! .... I was involved in a game last night where there were only 4 hits allowed total, by both teams.

I agree with Coyote that pitchers should not be immune to injuries.
