What's sturdier than a guy without an injury?
In regards to Pagan... He plays 1 position, has a worse arm than Ichiro and only plays CF. Plus he doesn't have the hit chances vs. LH's like Ichiro.
In regards to the pricing, IMO most guys in this set are grossly overpriced. The Sporting News had a problem with pricing in their 1st year, 2001. I think Strat suffers from the same affliction.
That being said, since most cards are overpriced, the point is mute. In Ichiro, you get a solid bottom of the order guy, that can cover your OF, give you great D, doesn't get hurt, and gives you 30 hit chances while doing so.
So back to the original question of Victorino vs. Suzuki? I'll take Ichiro.
And yes, there are a lot of ways to build a squad and evaluate players.
I wish one of our computer geeks in the community could put together a Diamond Dope site or at the least a spread sheet to track players, and how they performed in parks.
