Still Crazy After All These Years League

16 months ago, as the transition from The Sporting News to Strat-O-Matic was in progress, we put the Still Crazy After All These Years League on hold, as of the end of the 2002 season. As I wrote on March 18, 2012,

Rather than skip several seasons and then pick up in 2007 with the few players which might still be worth having, I would suggest that we put this league on hold after the 2002 season ends and then pick up with 2003 when that year is available on the new site.

Well,as we all know, that has not happened yet, In fact, when I wrote to Strat a few weeks ago to ask about it, I was told that

If you're talking about restoring the games themselves for those seasons..., we are not expecting that anytime in the immediate future. Perhaps later on but right now there is no timetable for adding those back.

So, as I look at the 2012 leagues that are already in their second seasons and see that many of them will be done in 6 weeks or so, I wonder if it might be time to bring back SCAATY?

Any interest in keeping as many of the 2002 players as you'd like and then leaping forward to 2007?

so, would we just draft among the new players from 2003 to 2007. Would the draft order would still be determinated by the 2002 records ?

From looking at my squad, there might be 7 or 8 guys on each team worth keeping from 2002. Other than that, I believe the draft should be random and serpentine, since the intervening years would likely have produced a very different order than that predicated by the 2002 standings.

I'm in - as I remember I had made A LOT of trades and had a stock pile of picks saved up BUT - I am still thinking we should jump a head to 2007 and maybe set a number on cards we HAVE to keep, like 8-10 with a 20 round draft random and starting up again @ '07 --------- any way you want to do it, I'm IN.............Tom.

As far as I know, both joekendall and richardgagnon (herge) have dropped out of Strat. If one of them does not respond to this ILC thread, then we'd be happy to have you join in!
