I know I have seen this answer posted...but my memory is poor. Too many beanballs to the head. How do you identify a pitchers year in the mystery card game when he gets hurt? I have Sparky Lyle and he is way too expensive if I don't have a good year. Although he doesn't have many bad years on his card.
In a DH league your pitcher can get injured when pitching to the opposing DH and the die roll is 6-12. In that case after determining if the DH was batting LH or RH you can look at the 5 possibilities on your pitcher's cards and maybe narrow down a year. Any injury of 4 games or longer means it is from a card of less than 200 IP which can sometimes be of a help.
If you are in a non-DH league the pitcher injury comes from the pitcher's hitting card which is the same for all cards so that is of no help at all.
correct - Anytime a 6-12 is rolled when the opposing DH is batting there is an injury chance for the pitcher. If there is an injury check out the pitcher's card on the 6-12 result to see if you can eliminate any cards. In a non-DH league the 6-12 roll is not an injury chance. The pitcher would then get injured from the pitcher batting card.
