And Corky, nice to see you in my division for Barnstormers event 5. 8-)

Yes BigM...it should be fun playing against you on the "other side". :D

Look forward to Joe's ratings when he gets a chance as well.

Cork, take a look at the xls file, it'll bring back some memories! ;)

I have looked at that Jet....interesting stuff. I need to capture a title and bring my win % up a bit. 8-)

Thanks for tracking that stuff.

Glad you enjoy it. Wineman did the original research, I have just kept it up since.

Ok, comments on Stoney's comments:

Big M - Agree with Stoney, Very good top end of the rotation, spent $40 mil on pitching. Very weak O v RHP. Strong arm in the OF only in Rf. Lack of O v RHP would concern me. Also *very* injury prone.

DJ- Also agree about pitching spent almost $45 mil! Almost all in the SPs. Like Big M, will struggle v RHP. Very good v LHP. also agree that he has the most HRs in the division. Also you're right about his OB, especially v RHP.

Semper - *Only* spent $36 mil on pitching. Agreed, offensively challenged v LHP for a change. OK v RHP. Has a lot of players.

Stoney - $35 mil on pitching. By far the best O in the division. Yeah, has three injury guys and not much depth to back them up.

Thoughts:

Stoney - will go as far as his O will take him. Pitching isn't great, but isn't *that* bad. I think he will shape up well in his division.

DJ - Will do well v LHP and struggle v RHP. Strong SPs will keep him in most games. Playing a 3 at 2b doesn't help the D, but it's OK overall with a 1 at SS. Lack of O v RHP is problematic in the long run, especially v the Central Division.

Big - almost the same as DJ, but without as much power and not as good v LHP.

Semper - Second best O v RHP in the division. But so weak v LHP that would be a concern. Decent otherwise.

Personally I like Stoney's team the best, but there is so much pitching on DJ andBig's teams that they might be better than they look on paper. Semper will end up making a ton of moves so who knows what he'll look like in 20 games! ;)

Gotta go. More on the other divisions as time allows.

DJ's team is at 14-4 now .. and has an expected W/L of 16-2. Oh and he is 8-1 on the road. Maybe the other guys in the east were drafting AA players instead?? :? ;)

Be interesting to see how long he stays #1 in RS and #1 in least RA.

My 6-12 start doesn't doesn't bother me. The team is built on hitting RHPs, XBase hits, and not turning BPHR rolls into outs. So far, I've faced > 80% RHPs, third in team doubles, and +8 in the BPHR ratio. Yes, the rolls will come soon enough, they always do.

So far, I'm surprised by Sergio Romo's performance. Romo can't catch a break with the rolls. Against LHBs, he yields less than 6.4 total bases and 8.8 on base vs. RHBs. He's had a few rough outings that yielded 4 HRs off the batters' cards. I can't imagine every hitter is going to > .400 against him.

Hitting - I've a few bright spots here with the hard part being Cano and DJ love the GIDP ball.

When the rolls break back my way, we'll see whether I can keep the team relatively injury reasonable.

Don't worry about Yasmani, AJ Pierzynski has 7!

Even Jose Reyes found the swing with 5 (11 in 2012). :o

I know it's early, but I find it surprising that Big A has scored so many runs. I don't think that was his strategy! ;) Less surprising that he's second in runs allowed.

We're treading water so far. Hoping to get a bit better going forward.

Interesting fact

Big A's enjoying +50 pitchers and +25 hitter roll advantage

You can't bet on stolen bases in the Eastern Division

On the other hand, another division better work on those snap throws to first
