I was wondering just how important clutch is in constructing a team. Is it something that should be seriously considered?
I think this has been debated periodically since the beginning of online strat and probably before by board game players.
All I can say with certainty after reading dozens of debates on the boards. People who play a lot more than me, understand this thing better than me, and win a lot more than me have stated ..... some say it matters and some say it doesn't.
Have read that Hal is more likely to intentionally walk your slugger if a negative clutch guy is up next regardless of how good he is and vice versa.
And worth noting that I assume Strat takes negative clutch on a card in to account when it makes out a card. And I would expect in order to keep the BA up on a negative clutch guy who will lose a few hits to clutch situations Strato would put in an appropriate number of extra singles on a card. But who really knows?
