Who do you start, Barry Larkin or Lou Boudreau?

Briggs stadium is where my team plays tonight, so larkin is getting the start.

Lou probably will have the better overall season for you. But just having him on your team increases injury risk for your catchers. So if it were me I find a trade partner for him and keep Barry.

But to do a semi platoon depending on park seems like a lot of money tied in to one position.

You have a point. Barry at 10.34 is an expensive platoon, but people keep trying to hose me for boudreau. Any thoughts?

I'd trade Barry but keep them both if people are just trying to rip you off. It would be interesting to see some of the offers, along with the managers names.

As for Barry-Lou, people probably think you wouldn't dream of keeping Lou, when you have Barry in a hitters park, and so they're lowballing you on Lou trades, so to speak. If you want to keep them both, how about downgrading to the cheaper Lou, and use Barry full time. That way you have a decent back-up, and you don't have the problem of having HAL injure all your catchers for 15 games and putting Lou in as their iron-man replacement.

Boudreau seems to be the more consistent of the two for me. Also, Barry has very good trade value.

We all have different opinions on trades, so I would like to hear the point of view of the people offering what seems like an unfair trade. If people are willing to offer certain trades in a league, why not show us all and explain their logic?

I agree that it is an interesting discussion to have. But a couple of years ago, in a discussion that Salt started, just like what you're asking for, it degenerated very quickly into flame wars. Especially when the trade offers attached to names started coming out. Some people are very sensitive about their reputations here. In case you hadn't noticed.

Boudreau is my backup catcher. I have no others.

What do you think of the trade of larkin for piazza? I have pudge as a starter.

Larkin for Piazza is an interesting offer. Piazza will be a much better hitter than Pudge, but you can use Pudge as a late inning defensive sub and you have the added benefit that both of them are 3-day injury risks and so you have very little chance of having Boudreau catching. Or you can even use Piazza as DH, with Pudge catching, and try to get HAL to injure both of them in one game!
