I don't think the article mentions it, but how old is he? 65 years he has to be 90 or more, unless he started as a 20 year old???

Besides being one of the top broadcasters in MLB history, Vince Scully is the epitome of a class act.

I love listening to Vin, although I'm not a Dodger fan. (Living in SoCal)

Though lately he makes mistakes during the games, without correct them.

I like Vin as much as the next guy.....I think he's absolutely wonderful.

But

The greatest announcer of ALL time?????

How about:

Bill King (especially basketball, but also football and baseball) should be in the Hall of Fame in all three sports
Russ Hodges and Lon Simmons
Hank Greenwald
John Madden
Tony Kubek

plus (I know I'll get flamed on these but I just think they're really professional)
Dick Enberg
Gary Thorne

and I don't care what anyone says, a ball game was always better with Phil Rizzuto in the booth :D

And anybody other than Hawk Harrelson. How does this guy still have a job? Whenever I hear him, I turn down the sound and put on a recording of fingernails scratching across a chalkboard.

George Barnard has obviously done time in the San Francisco Bay area. Hank Greenwald could use silence as only a man comfortable with his own thoughts could. His pauses were poetic, and brought the home the pace of a baseball game to the radio listener.
